Here is my finished Orc piece, which inspired the creation of the tutorial, and still renders of the final helmet asset, generated in the tutorial series.

  2. Looks interesting. Tom, i'm trying to decide between vray and arnold for personal projects. You use mostly arnold for your personal stuff? How do you like it? Have you rendered animations with it? Keep up the great work!

    1. Hey, I used to use Vray for personal projects, but then a got a job where we use arnold, I really liked the simplicity of arnold so I switched to it. It can take longer to render some things because it can be harder to reduce noise, so you might want a pretty beefy system if you wish to render out animations and such, but it is a very simple engine to learn and use on a day to day basis.

      Hope this helps!

  3. Hey Tom, bought your tutorial last night and loving it so far. Awesome workflow. I'm also glad you are using arnold, can't wait to reach that part of the tutorial. Please make more tutorials, can't wait to see more from you. I'll love to see you texture like a weathered robot or something like that. Though this is very similar in a way. But just post more and I'll support it.
